Let’s talk about cheating, shall we?

So a couple of weeks ago, I did a contest on the blog where you could win an Ergo baby carrier if you donated to the 4th Trimester Bodies Project. Once you donated, you unlocked several more options wherein you could do things like tweet about the contest, share a Facebook status, or pin the contest on Pinterest in order to “earn” additional entries.

cheetahsNow, I double-check everything with these contests. And I had to draw THREE DIFFERENT NAMES before I got to one that I actually verified that the person who did what they were supposed to to earn their entries actually did what they were supposed to. I had two Pinterest pins that never actually got pinned and a Twitter “follower” who didn’t actually follow me on Twitter. Either that, or these people DID actually complete the entries and then promptly deleted their pins and unfollowed me.

Here’s the thing: if you complete an entry, I WILL verify that you have completed the things you said you completed. So you HAVE to leave those things in place until the winner is announced, or I won’t be able to verify them. If you don’t, and I don’t see evidence of you having done the things you’ve said you’ve done, I will assume you are lying. Liars suck, and my contest rules and regs are very clear on what happens if you falsify an entry:

This giveaway ends on 12/21/2013 at midnight, EST. It is open to US residents, 18+ only! Any incomplete entries will be deleted and falsifying an entry will disqualify the entrant from winning any giveaways through Ruby Stilettos in the future. The winner will be announced on the blog, emailed, and have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be chosen.

For those of you who did what you should have done, I apologize. The contest was unfairly skewed against you, and I am not going to allow that to stand. SO!

I am re-running the contest. If you have already contributed to Ashlee’s Fundrazr account, you don’t need to do so again. (Although I am sure she would appreciate it if you did!) You can resubmit your entries. I sincerely apologize for having to redo this, but it is so important to me that my readers get a fair shake when they do what they are supposed to do, and I don’t want to let a couple of bad apples ruin the whole bushel.

So, good apples, here is the new raffle board. The drawing will be held in one week, on New Year’s Day, so you have seven days to get your entries in!
